Modernization Of Landmark Historic Theater's Facilities

JRM Construction Management completed a major renovation of the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, New Jersey, modernizing the historic venue while preserving its architectural character and expanding administrative and community programming spaces.

Spanning the basement through the third floor, the project introduced new functional areas to support the Center’s growing role as a cultural hub. The lower level was transformed into dance and classroom studios with wood floors, mirrors, faux skylights, and enhanced soundproofing. The first floor features a new box office and reception area with specialty ceilings and a custom curved staircase, while the second and third floors include new offices, conference rooms, ADA restrooms, and open, flexible workspaces.

The renovation also included full replacements of the MEP systems and exterior restoration, including chimney repointing and waterproofing. All work was completed while the venue remained operational, with acoustic protections in place to ensure uninterrupted performances and events.
