Phased Modernization For Big-Box Furniture Retailer

JRM Construction Management completed a full renovation of La-Z-Boy’s retail store in San Bernardino, California, delivering a modernized shopping environment while maintaining continuous store operations. Through a carefully phased approach, half of the store remained open at all times, allowing customers to shop uninterrupted as construction progressed.

The project included comprehensive upgrades to both the sales floor and back-of-house areas, aligning the space with La-Z-Boy’s latest design standards. Key enhancements featured circular ceiling elements at the entry and design center, custom display fixtures, and faux brick accent walls that introduce warmth and texture throughout the store.

JRM also provided design-build support, coordinating with La-Z-Boy’s internal team and managing consultants, permitting, and procurement to ensure a seamless delivery. The completed project highlights JRM’s ability to execute high-quality retail renovations in active environments while creating cohesive, brand-driven spaces.
