JRM Construction Management Builds “The Exchange,” a Destination Amenity Experience Inside JPMorgan Chase’s Global HQ

New York, NYJRM Construction Management is proud to deliver The Exchange, a signature culinary and amenity destination within JPMorgan Chase’s new global headquarters at 270 Park Avenue, where JRM led the interior build-out across a full 28 floors. Developed in partnership with AECOM Tishman, the exchange is built as a hospitality-driven market inside the workplace and anchors the building’s amenities.

At its core is a 19-station gourmet food hall inspired by hospitality leader Danny Meyer, featuring a rotating mix of local and international culinary offerings. The dining and convenience concepts include:

  • Morgan’s Irish Pub, a communal gathering space for colleagues
  • Park Avenue Express, a grab-and-go marketplace
  • On-demand food delivery to employee desks
  • Brand-name partners such as Little Dirt Candy, Sweetgreen, Daily Provisions, and Starbucks
  • Coffee bars on every floor and an artisanal café, The Corner, featuring specialty roasts and local treats

Beyond the guest-facing experience, the construction of The Exchange represents one of the most technically complex scopes within the tower. JRM executed the floors with advanced coordination, precision engineering, and specialized installation methods, including:

  • 13 custom-engineered cooking hoods suspended from 28 feet above the food hall
  • 330 engineered structural studs, each 27 feet tall, delivered via tower crane to support massive stone panels
  • Over 30,000 SF of end-grain Bavarian white oak flooring, finished in place under specialist supervision
  • A restored 1969 Airstream trailer, disassembled, rigged in using the external hoist, and reassembled as a signature juice bar
  • 15 integrated fire shutters, including a 35-foot unit delivered by tower crane

The space is further defined by two major art installations: a suspended constellation of 357 hand-blown glass spheres by a Czechoslovakian artist and a feature wall composed of hand-baked ceramic plates by a UK-based artist, assembled and installed piece by piece.

Together, these elements showcase JRM’s expertise in delivering highly complex, hospitality-driven environments at an unprecedented scale—integrating construction, engineering, and craft to support one of the world’s most ambitious corporate headquarters.
