JRM Construction Management has completed its build-out of a two-level, 99,000-square-foot office space in Newark that will house the online health publisher WebMD.

The firm said the project, which took place at Two Gateway Center, included full interior renovations across the third and fourth floors of the property at 283 Market St. The space comprises new private offices, conference rooms, distinctive workstations with barreled ceilings, modern pantries and executive offices, along with video recording studios equipped with a cafe dining area and storage space.

The new architectural finishes go hand in hand with a complete mechanical, electrical and sprinkler system, as well as modern lighting throughout the space, JRM said, noting that it worked closely with The DeRosa Group Architects and The Rock Brook Consulting Group on the renovation.

“Our team and The DeRosa Group and The Rock Brook Consulting Group were able to minimize disruptions and account for challenging logistical challenges in this renovation,” said Marc Reissman, an executive vice president with JRM. The firm added that the project required coordination on many aspects, including mechanical components and templated designs for ceilings, light fixture layout and ceramic floor tile layouts and installation.

WebMD, a division of Internet Brands, will occupy the space under lease signed last year with Onyx Equities. And the build-out comes amid Onyx’s ongoing overhaul of the four-building, 2.3 million-square-foot Gateway complex in downtown Newark.
