National Museum of Mathematics

Location 635 6th Ave, New York, NY

Project Size 34,800 SF

JRM Construction Management completed an expansive build-out of the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) at 635 6th Avenue in New York City, transforming two historic buildings into an interactive destination for learning and exploration. Working with Perkins Eastman and Zubatkin, JRM delivered a highly specialized environment that engages visitors through immersive, math-driven experiences.

The project included new storefronts and awnings, a full overhaul of MEP systems, and the installation of a striking circular spiral staircase that enhances circulation while serving as a central architectural feature. Interior finishes such as custom math-inspired flooring, ceramic tile, and high-end ceilings reinforce the museum’s educational mission, while updated ramps and operable partitions provide flexibility and accessibility throughout the space.

Key exhibit elements include the recessed “Math Square” interactive floor, retractable bleacher seating, and structural upgrades to support multi-story installations. The completed facility seamlessly blends architecture and mathematics, creating a vibrant cultural hub that accommodates exhibitions, events, and educational programming for visitors of all ages.
